Exchanging pressies!

After a lovely relaxing start to the day, Keith and I went over to Tesco in Kettering and received a bit of a shock when we saw how busy it was! There was hardly a space in the car park and it was only 10.30am!

I managed to squeeze into a space after circling the car park for a while and we ventured inside which was rammed with people, most of them with panicky looks on their faces! It was unbelievable! I just had to get a couple of stocking fillers for Mike, a present for Abbie and a few other small bits, so we were out of there as soon as possible!

Sophie was back at home preparing her delicious nutty, Clementine cake ready for this afternoon when Mum and Dad were popping over to exchange Christmas presents. They are going to Bath tomorrow for the festive season so we won't be seeing them on the big day this year.

The weather today has been beautiful with blue skies and sunshine so that was a bonus after all the rain and winds we've had lately. I'm hoping Christmas Day will be sunny as well, but there's definitely no snow in the forecast for us!

Mum and Dad arrived at about 2pm and we enjoyed a glass of Cava and a slice of cake served with cream. It was delicious! After we'd eaten we opened our presents and I was delighted with mine - two beautiful pictures to go in the bathroom (or in the hall as the colour scheme is grey) and a fabulous hamper to share with Keith.

After Mum and Dad returned home Sophie and I went to and bought some chocolates for me to take into work tomorrow and we popped to McDonald's as Sophie was craving some hot, salty chips! She has the startings of a cold and I really hope it doesn't linger on for Christmas!

Back home, we had barely sat down when the phone rang and it was Mike asking us to pick him up from Abbie's house... We duly set off and also gave Abbie a lift to her Dad's house. Back home, finally, we were to sit and relax and look forward to a hearty beef pie that Keith had made!
