Night at Nandos

Our morning was spent driving around the busiest areas of Northampton - two retail parks that were heaving with people, which is not really my idea of a pleasant Saturday!

Anyway, we managed to get Sophie's wallpaper and a beautiful velvet lampshade that fits the room perfectly. Even better it was reduced by 50% which I wasn't aware of until we got to the till! Keith said it looked "tacky" but Sophie loved it, which is all that matters.

The weather has been very mixed today - lots of rain showers and sunshine and I had a walk around the garden which has been affected by the rain and wind. One of my new plants has been completely eaten by something which made me a little mad! Grrrrr!

In the evening we went out for a meal at Nandos in Kettering. We'd never been before and luckily booked a table for 7.30pm. We stopped at the Royal Oak for a drink first and I wish we'd decided to go there! Nandos was very, very busy and we waited over an hour for our food, which I thought was just OK. They specialise in chicken which I have to say was delicious - tender, moist and tasty - but I've had far better meals at the pub for much less.I'm glad we went as we'd never been before but would I go back? I doubt it!

Shame Nandos took so long to serve you. They are about the only fast food place I would eat at. I like them purely as the chicken is not greasy, plus I can get rice rather than chips and I like the fact soft drinks are unlimited.

Hi kitchen princess! Yes it was a real shame they took so long and Keith had to go and ask where our meals were in the end. The children loved the unlimited soft drinks as I knew they would! Keith said that his half chicken was delicious and Mikey loved his chicken burger, so we may well try them again, perhaps for lunch.
