Back to work!

Sophie had to come with us this morning as VW still have her car. We are hoping I'll be able to collect it for her when I finish work at 4pm today. It was horribly dark when we drove into Northampton at 7.30am. Memories of Mallorca are disappearing fast!

So, it was back to work and I faced about 70 emails when I walked in. Sheila said that it had been busy with phone calls over the last few days, and it's the time of year when people make resolutions to get fit and join the gym! Unfortunately, most people give up by the end of February! Going to the gym, in my opinion, is something you have to make time for. There are days when I know Sophie doesn't want to go but she makes herself, bless her!

I was busy with the box office returns first thing, and then I tackled the emails. Sara was a bit quiet this morning and hardly spoke to me. It could be the case of the Monday morning blues! I just put my head down and got on with work and my first day back was more pleasant than I expected!

Keith collected me at 4pm and we went straight down to Riverside to collect Sophie's car. The repair was carried out under warranty, otherwise, it would have cost almost £200! I carried on to Brackmills where I sat in the car and read until Sophie finished at 5pm.

Back home, we did the usual chores and then relaxed. I decided to try two more of my whiskies... I'm certainly eking them out!

December 22nd: Paul John Bold Single Malt at 46%. This was from India and was beautifully peaty. How did they manage that? I loved this whisky - it was smoky, peaty and smooth. Sophie said she could detect marshmallows. 5/5

December 23rd: Bulleit Frontier Whiskey 10-year-old Kentucky Bourbon at 45.6%. This reminded me of Biscoff biscuits, with notes of caramel and honey, cream and vanilla. Sophie liked this one but said she could detect a hint of plastic but also salted caramel and vanilla. She wasn't keen, but I liked this. 5/5

I have two more to go!
