Late morning, Sophie and I went to the village to the ROAR! drop in session which was all about the recycling we accept, but more importantly, what we don't! I was very impressed with all the hard work that had been put into the display and there was a large table with alternatives to wasteful or plastic packaging. I added our own water filter jug to the products on show as this has cut down on our use of bottled water. We also picked up some freebies such as stretchy plastic wrap for keeping food fresh and some handy measuring implements from Daventry District council!
We also saw these which we liked the look of:
A bag made from juice cartons |
A purse made from crisp and snack packets |
We stayed for an hour and had a good chat and then went to pick up Mum to take her to hospital to see Dad. Sophie wanted to go to Market Harborough again so we drove there and had lunch first. Our favourite little cafe is tucked away behind a shop selling gifts and we love it there. We shared a cheese and chutney toastie followed by a slice of lemon and raspberry cake with big pots of tea. Delicious!
We had a mooch around the shops and I found another James Bond film while Sophie picked out two dresses and a top in the Age Concern outlet. We drove back to collect Mum and then it was home to relax...and book a trip to France in April for Sophie's birthday! We're going back to the same Airbnb in Wimereux, but this time for two nights as we want to visit Boulogne on the Sunday.
Dinner this evening was beef stroganoff followed by the film To Catch a Thief starring Cary Grant and Grace Kelly. Fab!
