Black Friday

Well, the forecast was certainly right as we had a cold and frosty start and we actually saw the sun! I drove into work and although my shift wasn't as bad as yesterday, I still had a few niggling problems with various orders and invoices. Of course, today is also "Black Friday" which was everywhere - there was no escaping it!

After work I sped home, collected Keith and we popped to Tesco to get ingredients for a cake that Sophie's going to make over the weekend, as well as dinner for Keith and I on Saturday night because we'll be childless. Mike is still in London, so it was a bit of a shock when we returned home from seeing Mum and Dad, to discover there's been a terrorist attack on London Bridge.

Sophie told us as soon as she arrived home but said that it was OK as her friend Laura was working from home... er, what about your brother?! We texted him and after a short delay he replied to say he was OK, which was a huge relief. Unfortunately, we later learned that two people died in the attack and the knifeman had been shot dead by the police. All this just after our terrorist threat had been lowered...

Keith walked down to the pub this evening while Sophie and I settled down to watch North by Northwest starring the gorgeous Cary Grant. It's Friday night so it must be an Alfred Hitchcock movie night!
