Sophie went off to the gym this morning, and Keith took Mike to work and I managed to do quite a few jobs before 7.30am! On his way home Keith called into Tesco to get some bits and when he arrived home he asked if I had any plans for today.
For once, I said no, but in the end we decided to go out on the hunt for crab meat for Sunday night's dinner. We popped down to B&Q to look at the bathrooms again but the choice was as mediocre as ever. From there we went to Aldi and I bought some of their veggie straws that we love and that are hard to find, and a bottle of Kalamata olive oil. Keith and I flew into Kalamata airport in Greece when we stayed at a small resort called Stoupa years and years ago so I couldn't resist buying the oil!
However, there was no crab meat in the supermarket so we ambled off to Lidl and we bought beer, Dark Rum, limes...but no crab! On the way home Keith remembered there was a fishmonger's on the Kettering road so we called in there and they had some frozen meat which cost £9. I just hope it'll be OK!
Back home we pottered about and just had time for lunch before we were back out to pick up Mike from work. Today, he'd been out strimming and mowing grass around the town and he was thoroughly enjoying himself! Phew!
Dinner tonight was paella and Sophie cooked. Before we went and worked in the kitchen we caught an episode of John Torode's tour of Korea. Some of the food looked lovely, while some did not!
