A walk in the woods...

I was in at work this morning and we were very busy! It didn't help when the computers and phones went down for half an hour, but the time did go quickly!

I went to get Mike from work and then it was home to get changed as Sophie, Keith and I went for a walk in Harlestone Firs. It wasn't quite the relaxing walk I had in mind, though, as Sophie is really worried about getting a job and we did our best to reassure her that it will all work out in the end! She still hasn't heard about the interview in London last week but she's in two minds about whether to take it if it's offered to her.

It's been dry today but not as hot, and being in the silent woods was lovely, despite the little bickerings going on between the three of us! We walked for about an hour and I loved the smell of the pine trees and the damp foliage. I dread to think what could have happened here when it was so dry if someone had dropped a cigarette! Luckily, the rain seemed to have dampened everything down a bit.

Before heading home we called into the garden centre and Keith treated us to an ice-cream. When we arrived home we found Mike's mates at the house so the three of us went into the conservatory to play a few games of cards. Tonight's dinner was supposed to have been cold meats and salad but Keith decided to cook a beef casserole with dumplings instead. I don't think it's turned that cold!
