Washout summer?

Today dawned beautifully sunny and warm but we have been warned that the weather is due to get worse over the next few days with heavy rain particularly on Wednesday. Grrr!

After dropping Mike off at school for a Sixth Form visit, and Sophie off at work Keith and I went home, had a quick breakfast and a shower and went into Northampton for his follow-up visit at the hospital with his consultant. We didn't have too long a wait and within half an hour we were being shown into an examination room.

The consultant examined Keith's "lump" above his scar and said that there was nothing he could do and that it would eventually lessen, but he had no time-scale to help him. He said Keith could go back to walking whenever he liked but to be careful of lifting heavy things. Hoovering, apparently, was fine to do!

Once discussion of that was over he said that the tumour they had removed had been cancerous but that everything else was fine and he'd be called back in December or early January for another scan. We walked out into gorgeous sunshine and blue skies and drove to see Mum for a quick cup of coffee.

After we'd had a chat we went to Tesco to get some things we needed before heading home for lunch. The weather in the afternoon deteriorated and we had rain and grey skies which was horrible. It was so lovely to see the sun this morning - are we in for a washout summer again?

Mum and Dad popped around in the afternoon for a cup of tea as I'd printed some travel documents off for them. Sophie was out in the evening to The Lamplighter with Hannah so as soon as they had gone we went to pick up Mike from seeing his friends and dropped Sophie off at the pub. By now, the rain was really heavy and driving was nasty, especially as it was also rush hour. I was glad to get home, pour myself a glass of wine and indulge in an episode of Insane Pools. How I wish I was in Florida right now!
