Making plans

Mum called this morning to say that Dad was going to take it slowly and drive home as planned but could we go to their house as they were having curtains fitted today. We readily agreed as it was the least we could do in the circumstances!

We popped over to open up the house and then I drove Sophie to uni as she was meeting some friends to revise. Today has been lovely but we've had some very high wispy cloud appear to temper the sunlight. It was still warm, though, and reached the heady heights of 23c!

I drove back to Mum's house and stopped on the way to pick up our lawn mower and strimmer as Keith wanted to cut the grass at their house. The curtain man was busy fitting the new drapes so Keith and I went out into Mum's back garden and cut the lawn. It was looking beautiful - really velvety and a gorgeous emerald green colour. I wish ours looked the same!

The curtain man left at 12.30pm and we finished soon afterwards. We phoned Mum and Dad who were somewhere on the M5 and went home to sit in the sun for a little while. We also managed to have a look at the area in Naples where we'll be staying next year and we did a little research into restaurants. We were delighted to find our favourites nearby - Chili's, Applebee's, The Longhorn Steakhouse and even a BJ's Brewhouse in Fort Myers, only about half an hour away! We also saw an IHOP so that will mean some delicious breakfasts out!

Monty meowed and meowed until we let him out into the garden with us and he looked very contented stretched out on the grass amidst the daisies and dandelions. We all love soaking up the sun!

I picked Sophie up from uni at about 3pm and we went home where Mike was getting ready to go to Brixworth to see his friends. Keith and I had had to pick him up from school earlier as he said he'd hurt his back but there was no evidence of any pain when he got home! I have a feeling we'd been had again!

Keith went out in the evening with his mates John and Dave so it meant Sophie and I had a girls' night in, with Tagliatelli Carbonara for dinner accompanied by a bottle of wine and the final of Masterchef! Bliss!
