A cold and frosty walk

Today the weather has been stunning with deep blue skies and beautiful winter sunshine. We took Sophie to uni and went out as soon as we got back. It was very cold but so lovely to get out into the fresh air and feel the sun on our faces.

I took quite a few photos!

Frosty fields

Walking with the hard ground under our feet was so much easier than sinking into muddy grass. It was lovely to hear the snap and crackle as we trod on small branches and crunchy leaves. We saw a hare in the distance, a squirrel and heard pheasants but there was a lack of any other wildlife, although Keith swore he saw a little deer through the trees.

Once back out into the fields we noticed that the streams were very high with rainwater after all the bad weather we've had so far this winter. The weather forecasters are predicting snow here for tomorrow evening and into Thursday and I would dearly love to have a covering so we could go for a walk in the snow!
