I was up early this morning and at Mum's by 8am. We took all the things she had to sell out to the garage where Dad had set up two tables covered in a paper tablecloth. We priced everything up and I added some clothes, shoes and CDs to the array of goods to sell.
Sophie and Keith arrived at 9.30am. Keith had already been out to take Mike to a Remembrance Day Parade in Northampton and after dropping Sophie off with me he went home to have some breakfast and hoover the downstairs of the house...yipppee!
We were hoping for lots of people to come and had advertised the sale on the village's Facebook page and by putting wooden signs outside the house for the past week. The weather was dull and grey and then it started tp rain so we had to make sure that everything was under cover. Why couldn't it have been like last Sunday?
At just after 10am two men who were working in the farm units opposite came over and one of them bought my Dad's bike. We also had a couple turn up and they bought a few CDs and some Wii games, but that was it! So much for selling everything! We mooched about in the kitchen watching the Remembrance Parade on television and eating biscuits washed down with lots of coffee. We kept hoping more people would turn up but nobody came. It was a real shame and I felt very disappointed.
Sophie and I went home at 1pm and Mum said she would leave everything until tomorrow but it means we have to pack all the stuff back up and either try and sell it again or put it into storage. I'm hoping that we'll have another table-top sale in the village next May but it's a real pain to have to think about putting it all away again!
