As forecast, the rain arrived today and with it, much cooler temperatures. Sophie and I went to Market Harborough at lunchtime and dodged the showers - it really came down heavily while we were having lunch in Caffe Nero sending everyone who was sitting on the "beach" in the square fleeing for cover!
Sophie couldn't resist going into New Look and treating herself to a pair of shoes and a lovely khaki anorak which she promptly wore! We ran to Duncan's and had a lovely cocktail tasting - I sampled (small samples!) a Negrino and a Lavender Martini and both were delicious. I bought a bottle of whisky for my Dad as it's his birthday in a week's time plus a couple of bottles of wine for myself. The shop was very busy and the Cocktail men were having a great time mixing all the different drinks.
From Duncan's we ran to the new Gallone's Ice-cream parlour which was almost next door. Sophie treated me to a sundae and very good it was too. The place was packed with people enjoying the sweet desserts while the rain fell steadily outside.
On the way home we called in to see Mum and Dad so Sophie could tell them all about her holiday. She'd bought them a bottle of wine and some chocolates so they were very pleased with that and they had a great time listening to all her tales, some of which I hadn't even heard!
In the evening we had a Chinese takeaway but we resisted going to the pub while it was being cooked!
