Hot, hot, hot!

We all had an early start this morning as we had an appointment with Mikey's Head of Year at school at 8am. This meant we were all up at 6am, including a very grumpy Sophie who resented the fact that we woke her up before she wanted so she could get in the shower first. She took a great deal of pleasure in being ready far quicker than she normally is so she could keep reminding us of how early she got up!

The school was very quiet when we arrived and the Head of Year sent Mikey off to another classroom while we had a quick chat with her. We were worried that Mikey's not happy at school as his behaviour is erratic to say the least. When he came back in he said that he was worried about studying for his GCSEs but that he wasn't being bullied or anything like that, which was a relief. One of the things we mentioned was his tendency to stay in his room a lot, but over the weekend he'd actually ventured out of his "man cave" and had spent a lot of time with us in the garden so hopefully this will continue!

After feeling a bit happier about Mikey's state of mind, I drove to work and had another meeting with a man from the company who looks after all our health and safety. I really wasn't in the mood for it, to be honest and I was mightily relieved when he left at lunchtime, three hours after he arrived!

We spent the afternoon scrubbing the new floor as it was looking a bit grubby, but by now the temperature inside the building was registering 33c! I know the sensor is located near the ceiling but it was very warm all the same! Not really the ideal time to be scrubbing and mopping floors!

Sophie's friend Laura came to the gym with us which is always good as it makes us go! The girls concentrated on their workout while I did my usual stuff on the treadmill and bike. In the spa afterwards I nearly, very nearly, fell asleep I felt so relaxed!
