Today we've been hit by wind and rain so any chance of getting out into the garden to tidy up before winter is upon us has been impossible. I felt sorry for Mikey as he will be outdoors all this weekend!
Sophie had an appointment to have her nails done this morning, so Keith and I dropped her off and then drove to Jones's to get a few things we needed. As expected it was heaving with people all buying Christmas stuff! There is no way I could think about Christmas so early!
When we got back to pick Sophie up she wasn't quite ready so Keith and I had a mooch about the parade of shops where the salon is situated. We counted four fast food takeaways, three supermarkets, three hair-dressers and a bizarre little locksmith shop that had an identity crisis! As well as selling locks it had medals and trophies for sale and a strange little range of secondhand goods!
I spent the afternoon researching my family tree as the weather was so horrible. In the early evening we had gales and torrential rain and the sky went a very strange shade of orange! One of the things I like doing is standing at Sophie's bedroom window and gazing out over the fields. There's always something to see and the changing colours of the sky can sometimes be beautiful.
Keith and I did contemplate going to the pub for a drink, but we stayed in instead and sat and played cards in the conservatory. We've noticed a little black bird sitting on the fence at around 6pm whenever we are in there - he (or she) just sits there watching us which is a bit strange, but lovely!
