A tale of two pubs

Last night, Keith and I went to the "other" pub for a drink as we thought it would be good to walk there. I really didn't fancy driving him down to the village in the snow, plus the car park is on a slope and I have bad memories of being stuck there once before!

It was lovely to walk there on the soft snow but it was still very cold! The pub was pretty quiet when we arrived but within an hour the place was heaving with locals who all had the same idea as us! We had a few drinks and then walked home in the middle of the road and didn't see one car the whole way!

Today has been grey and dismal, so no blue skies to accompany the white snow. Keith and I went into work at 9am to see what the car park was like and to try and clear it if it was deep. However, the salt we put down yesterday must have done some good as although there was a covering of snow, it was easily accessible. We cleared the walkways with Mum and Dad, had a cup of coffee and then went home, content in the knowledge that the customers would have no problem getting in and out of the car park.

In the evening, Keith and I went to our usual pub for a drink before dinner and again, within half an hour it was packed out! What is it about snow and going to the pub? A lot of people in the village had been sledging all day (Mikey included) and it looked like they'd been having lots of fun!
