Phone niggles

I slept through my phone alarm this morning and woke up with a start at just past 7am when I should have been in the shower! I leapt out of bed, dived into the shower and made it to work with plenty of time, thank goodness! No coffee for me until I arrived at work, which was a horrible start to the day!

Sara came in just after me and still sounded ill with her cough. She'd been to the emergency care centre yesterday as it hurt her every time she coughed. I'm hoping mine will go away soon!

There were three of us answering phones today, and we had a problem with the system first thing when calls started coming through at 9am, the same as yesterday. The timings hadn't been changed and the phones played up for the whole of the shift with several "ghost" calls not disappearing from the screen so we never knew whether there was a call coming in or not!

As yesterday, it was a huge relief to leave at 4pm and look forward to a day off tomorrow. Keith and I are going to tackle the Christmas trees and clean the house, so not sure whether that's something to look forward to or not?!

Sophie had been to the gym today and had hoovered the house for me so it looked lovely when I arrived home. As a treat, we poured ourselves a glass of red wine and watched the last episode of Stanley Tucci's gastronomic tour of Italy, this time in Liguria where they specialise in pesto. The countryside looked stunning!

Keith had made a beef casserole and dumplings and dinner was delicious. Tonight, it was Sophie's turn for the back-to-work blues. She's going to find it hard to get up at 5.30am!
