Lazy Wednesday!

Today has been a very lazy day, spent at home pottering about again, and trying to keep cool. Keith and I did venture out first thing this morning, to Kingsthorpe cemetery to acquaint ourselves with the layout and the parking for tomorrow. We were astounded at how big the cemetery was - it stretched on for far longer than we had imagined, and some of the graves were covered in little windchimes, windmills, cuddly toys and flowers.

Once back home it was lovely to relax, read the newspaper from cover to cover, and just try and keep cool. It's been another scorcher of a day, and towards the afternoon it became very breezy, which just dried everything out even more. I did manage to sort out some recycling and deliver it to one of our local bins, and I was surprised at how arid the gardens are. But then I can't remember the last time it rained, so it's not really that surprising! We have thunderstorms and lower temperatures forecast for the next couple of days so that's a relief. The grass and plants could do with a good drink!

When Sophie came home we had a drink and sat and chatted. Keith went out to barbecue while we girls cooked the new potatoes, fried some onions and set the table. It was still very warm so back in the living room I threw open all the windows and Sophie and I watched another couple of episodes of The White Lotus, which we both really enjoy! There are only six episodes so we just have two left!

It was very hot going to bed and I was so glad we had a fan! Phew! Roll on the cooler weather!
