This morning, Keith and I made a start on clearing out the old dining room/study in preparation for when the wall comes down next week. We emptied the bookshelves first and made room for it in the garage, before transferring all the books back. We've covered it with a sheet of plastic to keep the books dry and protected.
We then emptied the cabinet and drawers and did the same thing! It was heavy and cumbersome moving it into the garage but the space we had created was the perfect fit, and we made a joke about changing the garage into a bar!
It didn't help that today has been hot and sunny and I for one, can't wait for the cooler weather to arrive at the weekend! After sorting out the furniture in the study, we emptied the cupboards in the kitchen (the ones lining the wall) and made room in two other cupboards and the drawer under the oven.
Now, of course, we can't find anything. When Sophie and Mike arrived home to the changes, there was a constant cry of, "Where's the crisps?" "Where have you put the dishes?" "Where are all the glasses?" And even I have forgotten where I've put stuff! We may have been a bit premature but it's all done now and we're going to have disruption for a while, so we may as well get used to it!
