We had sold some jeans on eBay last night, and the buyer was hassling us a bit about posting. I really didn't fancy going to Brixworth at 5pm and sending it off, especially as the little parade of shops would be busy with people calling in on their way home from work, so I messaged him to say I'd post them tomorrow morning!
Sophie returned from work and we cracked open a bottle of Malbec from Aldi which was dangerously easy to drink. It was delicious! On this day, Sophie was supposed to have been going to Italy for her holiday with Laura and Daisy, but obviously, it's been cancelled. I wanted to do a full-on Italian night but we made do with homemade pizzas which unfortunately turned into a bit of a disaster! We did start watching the film Only You, set in Italy, though, so that was something!
When it came to preparing dinner, Keith had only managed to find mini deep pan pizza bases, and we all prefer the thin and crispy variety. He cut up some potatoes into wedges and put them in the oven, and while he was doing this, Mike said there was a pigeon in the garage!
We all went rushing out and it looked very much like a homing pigeon as it had bands on both legs.
This is now the third homing pigeon we've had visit us, and Keith says it's because the roof of our conservatory is similar to that of a racing pigeon coop. We gave him some birdseed and water and he seemed quite content to eat out of my hand!
As I said earlier, dinner was not good. The bases were very thick and although Sophie did a great job with the toppings, they were dry, and I don't think the bases had cooked properly! Oh, dear!
