Porky pasta!

Keith and I went to Tesco this morning and called to see Mum and Dad on the way home. Sophie was busy doing a presentation for work and putting some more clothes on ebay. It would be great to have enough in the pot for some lovely treats when we go to Mallorca in September!

I bought some cheesy bread in Tesco and we enjoyed that with some smoked cheese for lunch. In the afternoon we went to see a 30th anniversary showing of When Harry Met Sally at the Northampton Filmhouse. We gave Mike a lift on the way as he was off to see his friend in the town. He was planning on staying at her house overnight so tomorrow we don't need to take him!

We parked easily in the car park by Derngate and we were surprised to find the main doors closed! We headed straight for the cinema and Sophie bought a glass of wine each before we settled into our lovely comfortable seats. Both of us had seen the film before but it's very enjoyable seeing it on the big screen and enjoying a glass of vino and popcorn! My friend Fiona had also gone to see it and we met up to say hello afterwards.

Sophie and I returned home and managed to relax for a little while before dinner. The sky clouded over and we had rumbles of thunder and flashes of lightening followed by torrential rain. It had been building all day and I hoped it would clear the air which was heavy and sultry.

Tonight we were cooking Gino D'Acampo's "porky pasta" and we had different coloured Orecchiette pasta. Sophie cooked it all by herself and it was delicious. I prepared the garlic bread, so that was my contribution! Rather than have the stringy tenderstem broccoli, we had small florets and it was much more enjoyable!

This weekend has whizzed by again. I can't believe it's Monday again tomorrow!
