An afternoon of laughs!

On Saturday we awoke to grey skies and a much more chilly feeling. Autumn is definitely here! Sophie and I went into town in the late morning as we had a parcel to post and we were going to lunch at Pizza Express before visiting the Northampton Filmhouse to see Mrs Doubtfire.

We parked easily in the Derngate car park and walked to the post office in the rain, where I attracted a strange woman who admired our hair, asking how we managed to get our locks so shiny! She even asked us which shampoo we used!

We were the first ones in Pizza Express but it soon filled up with lunchtime diners! We enjoyed doughballs to start followed by a large pepperoni pizza and a side salad. With a glass of wine each and a shared dessert the bill came to just £30 as we had a Nectar points voucher for £15, which certainly helped!

We left at about 1.30pm with the idea of having a coffee in John Franklin's bar but I realised that Kinky Boots was still on and the place was heaving, as all the bars in the theatre were closed. We eventually had a cup of tea and a soft drink from the bar in the cinema and watched the foyer fill up with, mostly, women!

There were very few of us in the cinema but as usual we managed to get a rustler behind us. I have no idea what the person was eating but they didn't stop rustling the bag for a good half an hour! The film was excellent on the big screen and for some reason, so much funnier than I'd thought before! Both of us were in stitches!

After the film we drove home to find the house empty as Mike was out and Keith had gone to see Sileby play at Irchester. It was raining so the plan to have a barbecue was firmly cancelled! We grilled the food instead and enjoyed new potatoes with the meal, but we'd eaten all the salad from last night so we had no veggies! I was glad I'd ordered a side salad at Pizza Express!
