A noisy end to a busy week!

Work today was the noisiest I have ever known it and it made Kathy and I quite angry as the people in the office didn't seem to care that we were on the phone trying to talk to customers. We had a never -ending commotion of laughing and shouting with no regard for how difficult it was for us to work in those conditions. At one point, in the afternoon, Kathy had to ask Sara to ask the group of people to tone it down as a customer couldn't hear what she was saying, it was that bad.

It was a blessed relief to get out at 2pm and drive home where I shared a cookie with Sophie before going to school. Even the last session of the week was hard work as we had 17 children attend to see the film Paddington 2 and some of them were quite unruly. After the film I took them out into the playground while Lisa mopped the hall floor and by 5.30pm most of them had been collected by their parents. One little boy always stays until the end but we had a little girl who really should have been picked up by her mum at 5.30pm. Once it got to 6pm we started to be worried and Lisa called her mum who said that her husband should have picked her up and that she was fifteen minutes away.

Naturally Lisa and I were angry about the situation and very annoyed that the little girl had been left with us when she should have been at home. It was just a good job neither of us were going out although I did have to pick Mike up from Brixworth! We eventually left at 6.30pm and the dad showed up to collect his daughter so where was Mum? Certainly not fifteen minutes away!

I sped home, picked up Soph and we went to get Mike before returning home and preparing dinner, which was simple, thank goodness! I'd been looking forward to getting home on time and relaxing this evening after our hectic week, so it was a bit annoying to say the least!
