It was lovely to have a slow start to our Monday morning as Sophie wasn't going into uni until midday and Mike isn't at college today. Sophie and I sat in the conservatory and worked on our respective assignments whilst staring out at the increasingly gloomy weather.
The sky was leaden and grey and it was rainy and chilly. Horrible! After we dropped Sophie off at uni we headed to Kettering to do some shopping and it became really foggy! Could it get any worse? We shopped for tonight, as well as dinners for Tuesday and Wednesday, and popped to see Mum and Dad to give them their newspaper.
Back home it was time for some lunch and the weather became even worse, if that's possible! We had torrential rain and wind and at one point it was so dark I had to turn all the lights on - it was only 3pm!
I had said to Keith that I wasn't looking forward to picking Sophie up at 4pm as it was bound to be really foggy and dark, but amazingly, the sky cleared and we saw some sunshine and clear skies! There were a lot of huge towering clouds about, though, and they had a strange orangey tint to them. Despite the blue sky it still looked very stormy and it wouldn't surprise me if we get more rain before the night is out!
