Homeward bound

We were all up early this morning and while I cleaned the house (or the rooms we used) Keith and the children stripped the beds and loaded the car. We were driving away at just after 9am which I thought was really good going. Keith called into the Adnams shop in the town to buy John a bottle of Gin and came out with a glass and bottle of tonic as well!

We stopped for breakfast just before we reached the A12 and very good it was too! We all had the full English with toast and drinks. Just what we needed to keep us going on the journey home.

We made good time and we were home at 1pm. After unpacking and re-making our beds we spent the afternoon doing very little. It's been a mixed day of weather today with lots of cloud and the occasional glimpse of sunshine.

In the evening we ordered a take-away from the van in the village and went to the pub for a drink while it was being cooked. We spent a very pleasant hour chatting about the break we'd had and spoke to one of the regulars who visits Southwold and Aldeburgh on a regular basis. He, too, said how expensive the east coast was becoming.

After a delicious Chinese Keith disappeared upstairs to watch the golf while Sophie and I caught up with some of our recorded programmes. Perfect!
