Well, when I looked out of the window this morning the fields were still green...the anticipated snow had passed us by, which was a bit of a disappointment.
To make matters worse the weather was horrible today - the very worst sort where the skies are a bleak, heavy grey and the cold gets right into your bones! Sophie went off for a driving lesson at 11am and Keith and I covered Reception until she got back.
We went back to the gym in the evening for the first time in ages and were amazed to see so many changes in the layout of the gym floor and the machines which had been updated. We did twenty minutes on the treadmills and ten minutes on the bike before going down and wallowing in the warm waters of the jacuzzi, which was bliss. Well, it was bliss until the fire alarms suddenly sounded!
We all looked at each other and nobody moved until we saw the children getting out of the pool next door. We went to get our towels with everyone dreading having to go outside in the freezing temperatures! However, just as we were wrapping our towels around us the alarms stopped and we could see the children getting back into the pool. Nobody came and explained what had happened but I could see relief writ large on everyone's faces as we got back into the warm water!
