Squeezing in another walk...

The weather this morning was atrocious with torrential rain, winds and skies as dark as night. I took Mikey to school and felt really sorry for him when he got out to walk to school. Thankfully, he hadn't got far to go!

Amazingly, by mid-morning the weather had cleared up and the afternoon was sunny and dry. What a difference it made! After work we decided to make the most of the late afternoon sunshine and go for a walk over the fields. We walked down to the village first this time so by the time we'd neared home it was almost dark. The sky was a beautiful shade of indigo and the trees looked gorgeous outlined against the soft golden horizon.

After our walk Keith and I sat and played a game of cards in the conservatory and then cooked roast chicken for dinner. It felt good to have got out for a walk but as we approach 21st December, we're going to have to start earlier or we really will be getting back in the pitch black!
