A night out with the girls.

This evening I went to The Seafood Cafe again with my friends Lynda, Andrea and Fiona. It was a bitterly cold evening but the restaurant was lovely and warm and we had a great night. The food, as ever, was utterly delicious and we all made piggies of ourselves!

We started with olives and gorgeous bread dipped in balsamic vinegar and olive oil. With this we had a bottle of Pinot Grigio Blush which disappeared rather quickly! For starters, I had "Panko" prawns which were lightly breadcrumbed, served with their heads still on and accompanied by a chilli sauce. Andrea and Fiona shared a large fishcake and calamari while Lynda had mussels.

With the starters we enjoyed a bottle of Barefoot Zinfandel which also disappeared rather quickly! A good job it was only 9% alcohol! For our mains Lynda and I chose the most delicious fish pie I have ever had, absolutely brim full of scallops, cod and prawns and topped with a herby cheesy crust. This was served with peas. We had yet another bottle of rose wine, this was the best of all three and still only 10%. Thank goodness I'd asked Keith to drive us!

We all made room for puds (cheesecake and chocolate brownies) and then we waddled out into the snowy night!

Thank you Jiggy! Sitting here looking at the snow outside and it feels like January, not March!
