Washout weekend

This weekend has been horrible. We've experienced the very worst of the British weather with snow on Saturday morning and rain all day on Sunday. Not only has it been wet, but it's been windy and cold as well, so no chance whatsoever of getting out for a walk or doing things in the garden.

I've lumped both days together, purely because I didn't do anything interesting or exciting! On Saturday morning we all went over to Thrapston to get Mikey's Army boots that he needs for cadets. Luckily we took Gladys with us (our SatNav) and she took us straight there as it was tucked away in the town, and as we don't know Thrapston that well, we would never have found it!

The man running the shop was obivously ex-Army and a real hard nut, but he was certainly a character! We got Mikey kitted out with his boots and then headed home in the sleety rain.

Sophie worked both days over the weekend and we were very busy indeed! We did manage two trips to the gym for a swim, which was good, but other than that, it was stay at home, do some research on the family tree (frustrating!) and keep warm.

On Sunday evening it snowed, just as we were coming home from the gym, and it looked to be settling. Just what we need on a Monday morning!
