Sunday 10 July - a trip down to Kent

Mum and I went off to see Nan in Kent on Sunday. Sophie wanted to come but she was working for us so she had to stay behind, much to her disgust. We had a great journey down and took Nan to Bluewater for lunch, which on reflection, wasn't the best idea as it was very crowded and noisy.

We had lunch in John Lewis and then, while Mum took Nan down to M&S, I meandered back to the car, stopping in Waterstones on the way to buy Mikey a book. He's really into his reading now so I bought him a Percy Jackson book which I'm hoping he'll find interesting.

The journey home was equally good despite the almost continuous roadworks littering the M25 and the M1. As we neared Northampton, we all slowed down to 30mph, held up by a traffic officer and no doubt caused by Silverstone emptying out!
