We have a busy week ahead of us as it's half-term and with the weather being unpredictable, we could end up being a bit manic!
However, Mondays are always quiet as we are normally closed so today was just nice. Sophie went off to the cinema with a friend in the afternoon and I made sure I was home at a reasonable time. Keith treated us to a meal at the pub in the evening and it was very quiet, but still lovely and cosy. When we came out there was a gorgeous aroma of coal fires and a starry sky with frost already silvering the grass and windscreens of the cars. I just love the smell of winter nights so much - that wonderful mixture of cold air and, sometimes, a blend of woodsmoke and coal which makes me want to wrap up warm and take a walk under the gorgeous velvety black sky!
